JOB OVERVIEW
GIA Business Relationship Managers nurture and build productive working relationships at all levels with GIA’s Business Units, Schools, Laboratories, and departments to understand their products, services, operational business strategies and business processes to help shape, deliver and drive value.
The Relationship Manager presents value in the application of technical resources, services and support use of technology systems and solutions to promote GIA’s mission by managing and executing portfolio programs, to ensure delivery of appropriate products, services and capabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure business units and Information Technology are aligned with the business strategy and proactively translates the business needs so the partnership can fulfil the business direction.
  • Focus on understanding strategy, goals, business drivers and technology needs to aid in the shaping of effective services, solutions and business value realization.
  • Serve as the primary (not exclusive) point of contact and coordination in building long-term relationships with business units.
  • Assist partners through business case and proposal development.
  • Provide business process analysis, share best practices and recommend business solutions.
  • Develop and manage dashboards, reports and other shared success metrics.
  • Monitor and clearly communicate the progress of initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fosters creativity and innovation by staying abreast of industry and technology trends.
  • Collaborate with internal GIA teams to resolve work prioritization or resourcing conflicts as they arise
  • Anticipates bottlenecks and provides escalation management.
  • Establish initial vendor relationships and maintain a forward-looking view of vendor direction.
  • Interface with vendors to understand whether vendor products will meet business requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong computer skills utilizing software such as Microsoft Office Suite, e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and e-mail.

  • Quick learner, able to come up to speed on IT systems and IT/business processes rapidly.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction or direct supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree with major or emphasis in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Management, Business Administration or related field, and
  • 7–10+ years of experience of as a Business Relationship Manager, Management Consultant or equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar role.
  • Preferred Certified Business Relationship Manager, Certified Scrum Product Owner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)
  • Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.
  • Extensive use of office equipment to include computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business related machines and software.
Salary range: $107-171K
